In our region, you can delight with dishes typical as rillettes, the Rillons (sautbed pork morsels), andouillettes, géline of Touraine the flavourful and firm flesh of which has flavours of the game, the coq au vin of Chinon, the Sainte-Maure, the delicious goat's milk cheeses, the said prunes "of Tours ", macaroons of the monks of Cormery, the fouaces pleased to Rabelais, Nougat of Tours and barley sugar.
To accompany quite our dishes: the tourangeau vineyard proposes quite a range of varied and additional wines. Wines of Bourgueil, Saint-Nicolas of Bourgueil and Chinon offer especially red to the aromas of flowers and red fruits in their first years, then become more mineral. Montlouis, Vouvray et Azay-le-Rideau are quiet white wines. They also exist by sparkling, in dry, in half-dry and in softness. To finish delicious white, pinkish, red wines which are entitled to the naming Touraine and which wear mostly the names of the castles of the Loire.
